Artist, photographer, and darkroom printer Sumner Wells Hatch (b. 1984) was raised in the Mount Washington Valley in northern New Hampshire and studied photography at the Maine Photography Workshops at Rockport College and at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He currently lives and works in New York City and on Squam Lake in central New Hampshire, the latter of which has served as the setting for his ongoing series Private Ground (2005-present).
